Overview
In 2020, I completed a certification in the Visual Elements of User Interface Design, offered by the California Institute of the Arts. As part of the course requirements, we were tasked with designing a mobile app featuring a customized interface tailored to a specific audience. Over the span of a month, I focused on creating an app catering to vegan desert foodies in NYC, which I named 'Shake Eats'.
Shake Eats is designed to connect vegan foodies with a variety of shops offering indulgent desserts across NYC. The app prioritizes accessibility, aiming to provide users with easy access to 'veganized' versions of their favorite extravagant treats. Users can conveniently filter through nearby shops and restaurants based on their current location or specific borough, and place orders for either delivery or pickup.

Reflection
Overall the experience of designing 'Shake Eats' has provided me with an invaluable opportunity to expand my creative horizons. It encouraged me to venture into uncharted territories, experimenting with vibrant color palettes and typography that I don't typically get to design with. Throughout the course, I delved deeper into the fundamental principles of interaction design, gaining insights into the relationship between visually pleasing UI and the actual user experience (UX). Learnings I'll surely continue to use on future projects.
